ABOUT

Our Founders

Mr. & Mrs. Rentola

The School was founded by Mr. & Mrs. Rentola in 1997 to empower the children to impact society with the love of Christ and shine for Jesus’ glory.

Since 1997

Mrs. Inge Rentola, the Founder and Former Chairperson of the Board, was a dedicated mission minded individual who sacrificed all her life to equip children to be Christ-loving and shine for Jesus’ glory. Over the years, Mrs. Rentola and her three daughters, Mrs. Finni, Mrs. Piccone & Mrs. Mirams invested their quality time to teach the students while Mr. Rentola helped in all other administrative work for many decades. The Rentolas lived a simple lifestyle and invested their financial resources to help individuals to have a Christian-based education from all walks of life. Mrs. Rentola was a remarkable woman of God, who had a compassionate heart, always listened and obeyed her Master’s voice. All her life was dedicated to the school to raise a generation for Christ.  She never took a day off since 1997 and worked all seven days of the week, whether in the school or at home during weekends, and would spend her leisure hours doing schoolwork. If it a was rainy day or a winter snowstorm, one would still see her in the school.  She worked tirelessly passed her retirement age. It was heartbreaking for her, when she lost one of her daughters, Mrs. Piccone, due to cancer in August 2018, but that did not stop her from the mission that she was called to accomplish. She fell sick in early 2019 and was hospitalized for several weeks. God saw her pain and the sacrificial life that she led for over three decades, and at 83 years of age on June 17th, 2019, God took her into His arms. She is now ever-joyful and resting in the presence of her Master and Creator.

TFCES, is committed to continue Mrs. Inge Rentola’s legacy and her daughter Mrs. Finni is continuing her legacy to teach in the school. Her youngest daughter Mrs. Mirams is a resourceful person who is volunteering her time off-site to continue the vision. The Rentolas are committed to serve the community to give higher standards of education and instill good values in the students they encounter. TFCES has a rich heritage and has raised students to pursue higher education in the past and every student who is currently enrolled will be proud to say TFCES is my school.

Why Choose Us?

We are blessed God uses Advanced Christian Academy as a Christ-centered school through our core values. Beyond the textbooks, the computers, and the classroom, what is a day at ACA really like?

First and foremost, we are intentional in encouraging our students to pursue a life of faith. Each morning, class is started with prayer. You will find godly staff who are pursuing Christ and who weave God’s story into their lessons and impact our students every day, inside and outside the classroom. You will find students rising to the academic and spiritual challenges set before them. Read through our testimonials or ask a member of our ACA family yourself and you will find that what makes ACA are the people themselves.

Core Values

Scripture

God’s word is foundational to our school. Not only do we believe in the authority of God’s Word, not only it is stored up in our hearts and in our minds, but you’ll also hear it in every classroom every day, and you’ll find it written on the walls of our school everywhere you look.

Unity

Our students, and staff represent many churches, but we gather as one family and agree on the core tenets of the faith.

Excellence

Whether its the athletic field, the stage or the classroom, we strive to do our best and please our Lord in all that we do.

Service

From our littlest learners to our soon-to-be graduates, ACA emphasizes service to others. We strive to develop the concept of servant leadership in all our students.

Solid Foundation

ACA desires to inspire students to be “The Salt and Light” of the world. We pray its light reaches across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and even to the ends of the earth. We instill in our students the concept that just as each lighthouse has its own light beam and code, our students have individual gifts and talents, and their purpose is, like the lighthouse, to rescue ships that are lost in a storm, to reach out to the needy. ACA equips students with knowledge-based truths, inspired by God, to develop a Biblical worldview. The hope of “the SALT AND LIGHT of ACA” philosophy trains our children with a strong spiritual and academic foundation in the basics, while challenging our students to use and apply their knowledge across the curriculum and life. Our students will declare “I am the Salt and Light and I shine for Jesus’ glory forever and ever.”

High Standards

To establish a minimum academic level of accountability, the Ontario Curriculum is our foundation. From that basis we have built our program and set our high academic standards. Our texts are Christian-based materials and are of the highest quality. Our fully qualified teachers equally emphasize social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development to ensure our children will grow to be confident leaders in the community. Our students are taught using a hands-on approach with daily in-class review. Our students are tested weekly in the basics and write tests/exams both in February and in June based on our curriculum.

Why We Do What We Do

  • Mission

Through prayerful dependence on God, ACA provides a Biblically integrated, academically rigorous educational experience:

Instilling in students a love for Christ and God’s Word, a love for learning, and a love for others (Matt 22:35-40)

Inspiring students to approach scholarship, athletics, fine arts, and service as an act of worship (Eph 4:1-3; Col 3-23-24)

Equipping students to reach their full, God-given potential within the Body of Christ, to live out their faith with grace, wisdom, and courage (Phil 1:7-9; Col 1:28-29)

  • Purpose

We partner with Christian families to help them fulfill their God-given responsibility to educate their children, thereby strengthening the Body of Christ. (Deut 6:4-7; Eph 6:4)

ACA SUBSCRIBES TO THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT OF FAITH:

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and the only infallible authoritative Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:21)

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 3:16-17, John 10:30, 37-38)

    We believe:

in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 10:33).

in His Virgin Birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:35).

in His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, 7:25, 9:12).

    in His Miracles (John 2:11).

in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood (1 Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14; Hebrews 2:9).

in His bodily resurrection (John 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:4).

in His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19); and

in His personal return in power and glory. (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16)

We believe that man is sinful by nature and that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential for his salvation. (Romans 3:19, 23; John 3:16-19, 5:25; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5, 6)

We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, the only means to salvation is belief in Christ’s substitutional death and resurrection. (Acts 4:12, 13:38-39, I Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 4:4-4, 5:1, John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 1:4-5)

We believe in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (Ephesians 4:30, 5:18; I Corinthians 3:16, 6:10- 20)

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. They who are saved unto eternal life and they who are lost unto eternal damnation. (John 5:28, 29)

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 3:26-28) 9. We believe in the creation of man by the direct Act of God. (Genesis 1:26-28; 5:1-2)

We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of marriage, that God created man and woman as unique biological persons made to complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9).
